RAMONES
way more Helter Skelter.

April 23, 1976 - 2021: 45 years of: Ramones.

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 !!!

Here we are, New-York City in the mid-to-late 70s, where disco ruled the dance-floors. Yet from the dark back alleys came these 4 punks not only to save rock from an imminent crash, but also spearheaded an underground movement from the grungy CBGB to your local downtown mega-mall.

From the ashes of acid-rock and the attitude of 50s rockabilly, all of this madness is coated in bubblegum-pop choruses that just won't go away. The groundwork for US-heavymetal AKA the to-be-thrashmetal of 1983, total DIY works and stripped-down output ...the sounds, the looks and roots of American punk-rock comes from the RAMONES.

The pretty:
Take a peak into their softer side with "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend", basically early BEATLES in ripped-jeans and black-leather. And now girl "Listen To My Heart" and gimme another chance, while I walk thru the corner of "53rd And 3rd", trust me baby, I was just passing by.

The loud:
Cut thru the crowd, straight into the mosh-pit, when the pogo was about to be a thing. Yield your "Chain Saw" and make a statement, these suburb punks surely did. Say it loud, that little she-devil "Judy Is A Punk", even if you don't know why ! And nothing shouts loud as the appropriately titled "Loudmouth"

The ugly:
The explosive instant riot "Blitzkrieg Bop" is one way to test one's sound-system threshold. Shout along ! The filth and the fury of "Havana Affair" breaks down walls on cue. And how 'bout some free baseball-bat violence on the up-lifting "Beat On The Brat"

The boys's dirty legacy as long being secured in the rocknroll history books. The actual date would be April 23, 1976. Now 45 years young, the RAMONES is way beyond music. It's brand crossed-over into the mainstream, into pop-culture and especially deep in it's core audience: disgruntled teens worldwide.

The fuckin' RAMONES: real, raw and relentlessly loud ...and hey, ho ...can we all agree that "Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue" is the GREATEST SONG EVER !!!
