School's out !

Taylor-made for success, these wild teenagers would change the face of rocknroll. Eye-candy becomes ear-candy. Built to counterculture disco face-first, this all-girl little bums garage band has a name: THE RUNAWAYS.

No glitter, just teen-rebellion ...resistance is futile.

Hardrockin' with serious chops, they yell "You Drive Me Wild", as the gavel falls down on "Dead End Justice". Delightful decadence, the loud "Thunder" cracks the mid 70s with hard-hitting attitude. Always on the edge, the hot overdrive of "Blackmail" and slick strumming of "Secrets" entertains, while THE VELVET UNDERGROUND's very own "Rock & Roll" receives the rejuvenation treatment.

Tongue out, hip-swinging and air-guitar playin', now immortal arenarock icon, is a must have and overall ass-kicker. From Los Angeles to London to Tokyo, these runaways provide the ultimate sweet addiction: the explosive "Cherry Bomb".

Always on the loose, the lovely culprits are:
- singer Cherie Currie, aged 16
- drummer Sandy West, aged 16
- bassist Jackie Fox, aged 16
- guitarist Joan Jett, aged 16
- guitarist Lita Ford, aged 17

The stone-age esthetics of rock gets an update ...a powerful poison: open wide. Including for a short time, future BANGLES bassist Micki Steele, THE RUNAWAYS's rabid course into stardom would be a short run ...yet leaving an indelible mark in rocknroll's underpants. Recently a 2010 biopic-movie documented their quick rise at the top.

Rapidly back in writing-mode, the juvenile crew would annoy the neighborhood again with 1977's Queens Of Noise LP.
